I had mega man X5 on my old PC (Keep in mind this was the actual port, not a torrent/ROM.), and the with the fact that the activemark DRM is permanently broken, I can no longer retrieve any code to access the game once again and currently locked out. Any way I can circumvent it?

Look for a crack or get in touch with the developers. If you go the crack route, be sure to virus-scan the download and back your system up before running anything.

This is why I avoid using DRM-locked products. Chances are the company won't be around in ten years or they won't replace a 10-year-old auth server when the hardware fails.
