Okay, I should probably mention that Cheeto, SRJ, and Goat-tan already have assigned roles in the series so they really wouldn't be available to be Kym-tan's husbando.

Deadpool-kun might work though. Any other suggestions are still welcomed.

@Precious Roy
Praise the gods! You're the first composer to offer your services.
Anyway, yeah, just an opening and a closing theme. I'd like each to be at least 30 seconds if possible. (You may only end up doing one or the other though if I can get another composer on board)
And I can wait. The animation itself will take a while so you'll have time.
I'd also love to hear some of your work if you don't mind.

@Natsuru
Would he be okay though if I contacted him? I don't want to just come out of nowhere demanding time out of his day.

I'll PM you with details in a bit.

Here are some doodles for you all:

On the left we have young Emma (immagoat) being a sister figure to an even younger Maribelle. The middle top is a redesign of Maribelle's outfit with a longer dress, no left sleeve (cuz she doesn't have a left arm), and some other cosmetic changes. Right top is Kym Chronicles' composer, Precious Roy (I decided to leave him as a sock puppet with an unseen puppeteer who constantly tries to sell the group items). Below Roy is a dragon for a special something I have planned. On the bottom is Daddy Deadpool-kun and Mother KYM-tan. Deadpool-kun's design will be subject to change as I want to make him look a bit more older and masculine. His mustache was an idea from RM.

And that's all for now folks! Stay tuned.

Not exactly Kym Chronicles related, but here are the two bloodhogs in their original form in honor of Valentine's day (sort of). It was a request of Shadowmancreator:

I may do a Kym Chronicles version, but because no one knows what they're personalities are as of now, it wouldn't be as much for for everyone. So yeah. Here you go.

Edit: The caption shouldn't have the "help" in it, but I'd rather just inform you guys of the typo rather than go back and edit and reupload it.

Hey! I'm back again!

Almost got the M.A.P. out of the way and storyboarding and scripting for the prologue is finished (it will be very short). In the meantime, here's a piece entitled "Exhale" featuring Maribelle:

Basically Maribelle is in a literal deadpool (the same pool I posted on the goat thread that featured both Emma and Maribelle).

Also, I don't know if I should post this in the "I Need Blood" gallery or whatever since it's kind of not-so-obvious it's Maribelle. For now it remains on my deviantart.

Hey, work on the Prologue (i.e. animating it) is about to begin!

In the meantime, I have some questions:

1)What are some of the earliest and most influential memes you can think of?

2)For background characters (like the ones that appear for 1 second) should I use KYM users? Like anyone who volunteers their avatar or a design? I thought it would be a fun idea, but I don't know if that would cause drama as was mentioned earlier in this thread.

And here's a sample frame:

@Number 2:

Again, restricting members to background or temporary roles is perfectly fine as long as you don't portray them negatively.

Yeah, getting permission is nice as well, though it isn't exactly mandatory unless if that user is given a speaking role.

And on that topic, you have permission to use me. Pester me a bit and I will get a design doc out for my OC-Form.

And kinda halfway on topic, I have kinda changed my stance on community projects in terms of User Inclusion.

Not completely, but just removed the absolute "no" from my stance. As long as you the director are in control of the content and have permission to use somebody in the way that the user has given you permission to portray them, and be careful to portray them in a Public Point of Veiw rather than a Personal One, idolification/demonification shitstorms should be minimal. (For Instance: I wouldn't put Ann or Zar in as the final boss or even anything beyond a mid game boss simply because they are my friends, as their positions in the community don't reflect that status.)

I feel a bit like a jerk throwing a different set of advice at you after some work very clearly happened in the background, but I just felt the need to throw that out there. Don't feel inclined to change anything based off this, user disclusion is still fine and the safest route.

(Also, as a sly announcement I actually have something KYM-Tan related in the works myself. Though I will be keeping it private until I have the engine done.)

@Natsuru
Nah, it's still pretty similar to the advice you gave me earlier so I probably won't feel the need to change too much in regards to user inclusion. Still keeping it to a minimal… Except for the background characters.

@Everyone
If anyone wants to offer their character designs or avatars as a base for some quick background characters, I'll take them. Just post them in the thread.

I would have a speedpaint for you all, but I'm stuck. I just can't shade the hair right and everything I do looks icky so I'm just gonna show you all the WIP for now.

I can cell shade anime hair, but I just can't shade it in the style I'm going for on this one. If anyone has any tutorials or suggestions that'd be great because I really do want to finish this speedpaint.

>Base Color
>Draw Hair Lines. Increase the thickness of the lines in order to imply shade.
>Effect
>Blur
>*FRAGMENT*
>Literal Shadow Shade
You will get an effect like this:

(Old Drawing. Ignore the QUALITY, but hopefully you get the idea)

Alternatively, get the Expansion Pack by Pyrochild, as it includes the Smudge Tool.

If you get that:
>Base Color
>Draw Hair lines
>Effects
>Tools
>Smudge
>Increase Jitter
>Brush up and down the hair with the grooves of the hair lines.
You will get a more subtle texture like this:

I realize I am not the best colorist in the world, but hopefully that helps.

Thank you, Natsuru. I'll try that when I get to working on that again. It was just a side project so it's on the last of my priorities list.

ANYWAY, just to show this project is not dead, I'll just post this here:

Every once in a while I'll try to post updates. I would do promotional art and stuff, but I feel I should finish at least one episode before I do anything like that. I might change my mind later though.

@Ox Doxon
The art and rough versions of the script are all done by me. Some music will be provided by Precious Roy. I'm also planning to run the script by a few editors to get a general opinion.
