What is the best 4chan board?

I think 4chan gets a lot of undeserved hate. True, there's some pretty skeevy stuff on there, but people have a tendency to assume that the entire thing is as bad as /b/. Which could not be further from the truth.

Which boards are your favorite, KYM? Personally, I like /tg/, even though I'm a filthy casual when it comes to tabletop gaming.

I used to like /a/, but then it sort of went down the drain around 2009 or so. Nowadays it's rapidly approaching /v/ levels of shittiness.

I'd consider /tg/ to be the best board.

I'm really interested tabletop gaming, especially role-playing games (even though I don't have a group to play them with). Also the discussions there are relatively civil, compared to other boards.

Another cool thing about /tg/ is that they're a lot more accepting of topics that don't technically belong in their board. You'll find comic threads and anime threads there, and while not technically on-topic, it's still fa/tg/uys posting in the thread, and as such the thread will have a /tg/ flavor. Often they end up talking about how the topic of the thread relates to tabletop games, like which comic or anime universe would be the best have a campaign in and which system would best fit that universe.

This is in contrast to, for example, /m/, where it seems like 85% of the discussion that goes on there consists of arguing of over what is and isn't /m/.

But /a/ has always been shit…

/tg/ because it gets shit done. There's probably enough material for several anthologies of good fantasy stories, and supplements for all the major rpgs and wargames.

/u/ master race. Also /tg/ does get plenty of shit done, but you mention anything remotley objectionable and HERESY! *BLAM*

The reason /tg/ is so comparatively prudish is because if they weren't, they would be the perviest board on the site. /tg/'s userbase overlaps with /d/ to huge amounts. There's a reason /d/ has so much WH40k rule 34.

On the topic of /tg/, I found this screencap lying around somewhere:

This pretty much sums up what I love about /tg/.

When you've read one /v/ thread, you've read them all, and they're all shitty. Well, maybe not all of them, but the amount of actual good content is negligible.
