belittling people

We all want to believe we're special and above others in a way. That doesn't mean that we consciously think we are better than others, but most of us have a little feeling that the way we live our lives is the "right" way while others by default are "wrong". Sometimes we belittle others without realizing it. Other times we do it purposely to put ourselves above them.

If you men belittling on the internet, it is much easier to ridicule someone's beliefs, opinions, performance, etc. when we don't see their face. We don't see the pain we've caused which causes us to bite our tongues in real life. We don't see how we've affected that person. It's true that some people offline would act the same, but many of us don't simply because we are humans with the ability to sympathize with each other. Online you may as well be talking to a robot.

But that doesn't mean we're all horrible people. If anything being on the receiving end of such behavior can prepare us for similar instances offline without having to get physical. It can also be argued that internet aggression shows the value of face-to-face communication. That without this…

Wait, we aren't being serious, are we?
