Every once in a while, I've looked up memes wondering what they were. KYM was usually the first result and I kept using it to find out what memes were that I often saw. I scrolled down to the comments when visiting pages, and the crap posted in the comments cracked me up, so after a long time of lurking, I made an account so I could join in. I only commented once in a Blue Moon and was still a lurker for the most part, but very recently I've started becoming a regular. Can't remember the exact first time I saw it though. I think it was when I looked up "Trolling" or something.
I started smashing some random buttons on my keyboard and I ended up here.
Looked at memebase ages ago. Found KYM.

Lets see… first I surfed the Youtubes until I washed up miles away from where I started in the Animoo Riverbanks, then I followed the shores into Deviantart City, then I accidentally wandered into the internment camps of Gaia online where I spent what seemed like an eternity level grinding for those fucks, then I dug my way out and got involved in the underground empire of Mugen Building, and when I returned to the surface I wound up on the shores of Youtube again next to the small town of Know Your Meme. There, I built a lovely little house that got knocked down a few times, so I built a livestream theater so I could build my actual home on top of that one instead. And life was good.
4chan led me here….so yeah…. I was in hell and back

I found it back in the days of my early internethood, while searching for "le funni meems".
Thank god I didn't post back then.
I've known about KYM for almost 2 years now, thanks to things like their youtube channel and the meme articles, but always thought it was just for documenting memes, and nothing else. Only when I found out about the image galleries and forums did I actually get interested in the site, and decided to make an account.
I found this site because this YouTube Poop series called "The Frollo Show" used this site as a recurring joke back in it's earlier episodes.
Teh googel. I was looking up information about an old meme that was popular in the '90s. I found this site which documents the history of memes =) with this particular meme rejected and declared "not a meme" in the comments 8|. So I made an account to fix up that one entry and found I liked the community.

I found the Weegee KYM episode on youtube.
I liked the guys, so I started frequenting the site, and when I saw the Jeopardy forum game I decided to make an account.
Looking for cats and LOLstuff in Cheezburger and I saw KYM.
And thus started a legend……
…Google Images?

I was looking up what memes were, and I found this place. Two years later, I made an account, and now I'm pretty known here.
Through YouTube. I was searching for memes on YouTube and then I found the KnowYourMeme account. Saw some videos then decided to make an account on the website.
I honestly can't remember how I originally found it. This site was sat on my Bookmarks bar for ages, only being clicked on the odd occasion that I wanted to check out some meme.

To be honest I really did forgot how I managed to get here. It was most likely I was looking up a rage comic character or something.
I honestly can't remember how I got here, but if I were to guess, I might have been looking for pictures of cats.

I realised "Cool Guy Has Chill Day" didn't have an entry on anything.
I went here and got rejected
I stayed to see what the community was like.
2 years later i am become this
Lolcats got me hooked.
To learn more about Lolcats, its origins and why it was so good, I was led here. I thought, thought the community here was chill, oh was I wrong. So wrong have I been to click the 'Register' button.
Once upon a time, when the Internet was under the reign of the rage faces/comics, I was like "There's too many of 'em", so I decided to search their origins and that's it, I discovered Nirvana.
The entry that introduced me to KYM was "Guile's Theme goes with everything". After that, my interest was reinvigorated when I found out about the image galleries for Video Game Logic and Tumblr. I made an account so I could comment, and here I am.
I first found this site in 2010 when I was a "totally randum internet kid XD!1" under the name EliqueStudios. For proof at how stupid I was back then, here is my first ever tweet on Twitter:
My First Tweet? Umm… Broccoli Chicken Vinegar Cake?
— Darien Dickinson (@EliqueStudios) June 27, 2010
As you can see, I capitalized every word (like Jaden Smith or something) and everything on this Twitter account is now a goldmine of cringe. I am only leaving it up for archival purposes. But that is a very small reason, and this Twitter account could close at anytime.
Anyway, I made an account here (under the EliqueStudios name) and began posting "trololol" meme entries titled "Know Your Meme" or "Emem Ruoy Wonk", etc. from 2010 to 2012.
Here is a screenshot of 2012's one as taken by another KYM user.
After finally realising how cringey the EliqueStudios name was becoming, I restarted my internet life fresh as NeonWabbit and started becoming active on the KYM IRC. Under this name on the KYM forums, I have promised (but failed) to deliver things like "KYM-tan: Ace Attorney" or "KYMmon", and here we are today! Stay tuned for the KYM Thread Simulator 3 which I'm making. It's gonna exceed your expectations. By that, I mean actually get delivered. I'm not saying it will be of good quality, but who knows…

Saw the "Register" button, clicked on it, and there was no turning back..
But for real, I joined Memebase in early 2012 and gained a decent following there. I left the site and didn't come back for a few months due to personal reasons. When I returned, I noticed the KYM section and decided to join out of pure curiosity. I didn't start using the site regularly until about a month ago, but I guess what drew me in at first was the numerous amount of strange and funny picture comments. After a while, I realized how much of a great alternative this site was for discovering memes, so I started frequenting it more. And that is how I became the man I am today.
