Guys hear me out. I might get a lot of flak for this, but Kratt's Creatures is the best thing that's ever been on television.
First of all, just look at these guys. Chris and Martin Kratt.
Yeah, I know they're "brothers" on the show, but tell me there isn't something… more going on here.
Whatever, my headcanon aside, these guys are actual animal researchers doing actual animal science. Don't believe me? Check out their assistant.
She's got this sickass computer system, and like a million books. She stays back at base while Chris and Martin do the fieldwork. Now, THAT'S science.
What's more, THIS guy lives on her computer!
His name is Ttark, and he's a creature. Just look at that CHARACTER DESIGN. Does it get any better than this? And what's more, he's just so abso-tively SNARKY! The animation is just top-notch.
Don't get me started on the soundtrack. They manage to evoke the emotion of wherever they are exploring to really get you into the scene. Ocean, Savannah, you name it, they have a sound for it. It really adds to the experience.
They have all sorts of neat gizmos to help you learn about why animals act the way they do. They're not just going to SEE the animals, but find out what it's like to BE the animals.
Long story short, you should really watch this show. After a few episodes I was totally hooked.
And I got so upset when the network decided to cancel it and replace it with some jumping lemur crap. It really lemur-jumped the shark at that point. I feel like they took creative control away from the Kratts just to sell more toys.
