Hi. I have this urgent question as you guess on the topic title. I know that you and I seen how autism or aspergers syndrome is viewed or discussed on places like Encyclopedia Dramatica or anything like that. So my question is what's up with all the hate? I know it's trolling in certain degree, but they use it as a form demote something. Now I read about Chris-Chan and I KNOW that is not how autistic people are IRL. I know a friend who has aspergers syndrome and he gets like straight A in Math class in high school. Anyway, I just want to know anyone's opinion on KYM about this case.

Well, the internet is a place of both knowledge and malice, love and hate, peace and war, and most hate you will find on the internet is just Trolling for the "Fun" Of it. The tiny other portion is true, genuine hate. Encyclopedia Dramatica (Now Oh Internet) And any Chan are good examples of the "Don't take anything on the internet seriously" Rule. Bottom line is: They don't mean it, so don't let 'em get to ya.

Aspergers is nothing more than a social disorder that has the side effect of makeing people more inteliget than others. They also have less tolarance to change, but that varies depending on the person.
I have no hate for them, in fact there is one I love very much.

I actually have it, and it affected me as a kid when I was young, I mean till the age of thirteen I took everything as a literal context.
Like if someone told me to jump off a bridge, I'd ask "What bridge?".
In general aspies are faggots who should kill themselves, truly cold emotionless machines in my honest opinion.
I don't hate on anyone who has something wrong with them but there are some funny things that can come from it. For one thing the name Aspergers is funny as hell to me.

I know how you feel: it pisses me off to no end when i see people hating on autistic people, because it hits kinda close to home- IRL, i'm a high-functioning autistic person- ADD, ODD (Oppostional defiant disorder- it means i don't like people with authority) ADHD, Asperger's…..
It just seems kinda personal.
I don't think Aspergers or autism gets made fun of any more than other condition.

Asperger's and Autism are one of the most made fun of things in America. And not to mention the Internet.

Well it depends how severe it is.
But I think they are more than capable of taking care of themselves, some are actually pretty smart.
Good book to read on the matter.
In one part he orders a bunch of porn magazines, and a truckload of gravel to his teachers house.
Hey, I don't think they feel the pain as much as good ol' Wood Man over here…

Me?

No, it's me, I'm sure of it! I have the best ass-burgers:
(One of the common effects of Asperger's is not knowing when you're being inappropriate, so someone should let me know. Not that I'll take it down, since one of the common effects of being ME is not caring.)

High-functioning autism is God's gift to internet comedy.

Banana tree man, not wood man.
What i hate most is when people think that autism=insane or that autistic people can be described with a certain six letter word that begins with 'r' and rhymes with card…god i hate that…..but this thread reminds of the Psychiatric Hotline joke
You know, the one that goes like this:
Welcome! You have reached the psychiatric hotline."
If you are obsessive compulsive, press 1…repeatedly. and then clean the phone off 27 times.
If you are co-dependent tell someone th press 2 for you.
If you have multiple personalities, press 3,4, and 5.
If you are schizophrenic listen to the little voice in your head and do what it says.
If you are paranoid don't press anything, we have your number and we know who you are.
IF you are neurotic, first call your mother and ask her if you can use the hotline.
If you are a depressive it doesn't matter which number you prress, no one will answer anyway.
If you have recovered memories you will remember which number to press.
If you are manic, press all the numbers really quickly.
if you are having problems with your teenage children, ask them which number to press, they know everything.
If you have panic attacks, quick, hide the phone and run.
If your family is dysfunctional, fight and argue about which number to press.
If you are a violent phsychopath, pick up the phone and throw it across the room so it shatters into a million pieces.
If you are a pathological liar, don't call but tell everone you did.
If you are a chronic procrastinator dial 7-tomorrow.
If you are suicidal, dial 9 while wrapping the phone cord tightly around your neck
If you are narcissistic, stand infront to a full length mirror and watch yourself press 8.
If you suffer from an inferiority complex, press 6 and then hang up. You're not worth speaking to anyway.
If you are achronic shoplifter, steal a phone and press 9.
if you are a psychiatrist, diagnose yourself and figure out which nyumber to call.
If you are a doctor, take two asprin and call in the morning.

I am an Aspie, and I had some people criticizing some of my comments. One of the harshest people I encountered was Mezase Master of RetroJunk. Nearly every topic I created caused him and some of his friends to turn it into a spam fest. One of them called me an "elitist bastard" (which Urban Dictionary has a definition of it), and when I told them that I am an Aspie, one of them said "You are not doing a good job." When I told them about me suffering seizures, Mezase Master asked me the next day "How's your seizure?"
But one RetroJunk member who deleted his account and moved to Sega-16 name Baloo defended me from them very few times. He told me to tell Mezase Master to "Fcuk off!" after he asked me about my seizures, but I decided to ignore Mezase Master, because of him sounding like a troll. In RetroJunk's live chatroom, he kept posting the scene from the first Tom & Jerry film where that doctor approaches the fourth screen (or camera) in stealing the ice cream cart, while other members in the chatroom acted like bystanders seen in some "fighting in public" videos where bystanders did not try to stop the fights.
FryGuy64, another friend of mine, told me this after I told him and others at the Nintendo Database (NinDB) forum, "Seriously, I apologize for my social skills problems. I am an Aspie. Satoshi Tajiri probably would have spoken the same way if he was a NinDB member, because he is also an Aspie that's interested in video games."
Here is his reply:
"Well, I knew this also, and it's one of the reasons I try to make my criticisms constructive, while simultaneously trying to quell the tempers of those who seem to lash out at you for some reason.
With a history of mild aspergers in my family, I get protective when others treat you like an idiot child or shun you for saying odd things. And you do say odd things, and that's never likely to change. All I can do is explain to you, hopefully in constructive terms, why others are getting mad.
Don't think of it like learning a social skill, think of it like learning a conflict avoidance skill.
Don't change, because I value your input and find your excursions interesting. But maybe take away some lessons in conflict avoidance while still being interesting, and I will do what I can to stop those who create that conflict in the first place."
Now about people making fun of Aspies, autistic people and other disabled people. People make fun of them most likely because of how much they suffered in their jobs and how hungry they are for the very healthy medicine called either "comedy" or "laughter". But one thing I dislike about this is that it's difficult to know whether they are serious or kidding.
I have Aspergers as well. and yea i dont like how autistic people and other special needs people are treated often. I seen a few of them treated like crap who make youtube videos and such. But i wonder if some of them have autism themselves and just hide it….also i think people who say they are autistic always arnt. Sometimes the internet can become a strange place. lol
I think making fun of people for something they can't control is a dick move.
Eh, I've got it too and I don't mind the jokes too much.

1 in 38 kids have some form of autism.

I think autism affects a person childhood more than the adulthood anyways.
Btw, anyone else had that eye contact issue?
Chris wrote:

Agreed. People get beat up in my school for making fun of a kid who has a disability.
When I was young, I was able to memorize television commercials and other things I saw over and over, whether by accident or on purpose. As I grew older, and even today, I became more interested in speaking highly detailed than generically, because waiting for others to ask bothers me, because I thought it would be necessary for them to learn certain things they deserve to know.
I was put into special ed classes for most of my school life when I entered one elementary school my one and only brother went to, then forced by some people there to another elementary school that went out of business and became an academy.
Special ed classes I went to had video game systems and old floppy disk-operated home computers (later GUI-based computers powered by Macintosh and Windows OSs) me and the rest of the class played during free time. Nearly every student I met in class lived in mobile homes, while I was one of the very few who lived in much larger homes.
Here's how it is in my opinion;
In real life, making fun of autistic kids is wrong. You won't do it, because the morale people will kick your ass. On the internet, nobody will do anything to you. You will get a few arguments, nothing more. You can be banned, but that really doesn't matter either.
The thing is, in real life there are consequences, while on the internet there aren't. People do it on the internet because they can get away with it. People don't do it in real life because they can't. Some people do it on the internet then go to real life and act like it's wrong. Because no matter what you are talking about, there are always bad people in life. And that, sadly, is never going to change.

Is Corky autistic? After seeing the video, one of this year's American Idol contestants popped up in my mind. The one with Tourette's syndrome.

I decided not to be autistic anymore, since I can't freeload off welfare as soon as the government decides to default on the debt.
From this day forward I am a completely normal American!
Picture of me.
I also have asperger's. I don't have much to add other that what has been said. I think that anything or anyone that is considered "different" is very much singled out, misunderstood, and treated differently. I also think it's bad when things/issues that are different that get too much "special" attention and make it seem cool or normal to be that way. Example" emo=cool, self-injury or having a mental disorder is cool. Speaking from someone who has both Asperger's and bipolar who has battled with eating disorders and self-injury for years, it's hell. Awareness/acceptance is good, but treat the problem as a problem and work on it, don't make it okay.
I'm not saying being autistic/aspergerian is BAD, please don't think that. Know that I am only talking about the problems that come along with the disorder are bad and should be understood/improved when needed. The person themselves is never bad because of their disorder, with the exception of a serial killer or something with a different disorder.

Meh life goes, you could be a lot worse off.
Here are some examples of worse things, so you can appreciate what your are better.
Something echos sith lord in my head about this guy.
Why is this under Just For Fun? I have noticed that there are a lot of autistic people on the internet, and to be honest I wouldn't be able to tell between an autistic person and a non autistic person on the web. To me, it's not a big deal.
