Have you ever had a pop song repeatedly playing in your head?

And when I say pop song, I mean any song you hear on the Radio. For me recently, I've been hearing Billy Joel's "Big Shot" playing in my head for hours now. My father told me that if this kind of thing happens to you, then you should sing The Cranberries' "Zombie" to yourself until it get's out.

Whatever I listen to on my iPod last is normally in my head for a while. Praise the load I don't have crappy music.

I once had "Somebody To Love" by… J***** B***** stuck in my head. And shortly after that I had "Blow" by K**** stuck. Yeah. I was ready for someone to put me out of my misery.

I did this skit for a talent show where we did a compilation of 4 chord songs, so now anytime I hear this chord progression, the song automatically gets stuck in my head.

I've had Lady Gaga's Pokerface song stuck in my head for a day now. It stinks.

Oh god Doc.
You douche.
I will never get that out my head. And I hate them as well.
Oh god "Imma be be be, imma imma be" Oh no, why did you mention that awful song oh nooooooo

You mean have I ever NOT had a song stuck in my head? The "Zombie" idea might work; I tend to have a small list of go-to songs to break myself out of it. Interestingly, "The Star-Spangled Banner" is my #1 go to song, as it works good to clear out anything else, and I never seem to mind it.

Also, something that works well for me is to try to switch to a Beatles song. Not only do I know most of the Beatles' songs, but I actually know many of their entire albums by heart. I've noticed that I if I can run a song to its end in my head, that often kills it. All the better, I switch to "Yellow Submarine," run it out, switch to "She Said She Said," and I'm at the end of side one of the vinyl of Revolver.

Of course, this doesn't work with "Hey Jude" which has that annoying four-minute outro of "Na, na na, na-na-na na, na-na-na na, hey Jude," over and over again.
