The fact, that I can truly be myself, not hide who I am, other than my identity of course. I accept others for who they are. plus all the memes and stuff is like a total plus! I enjoyed my 2 years here and will continue enjoying them, probably till I get So busy that I don't have enough time for you guys. I'm Also waiting for the Memes entry to get confirmed…
I also listened to this while reading my little paragraph up there slowly, and while I read your reasons as well.

When real life is dull and uneventful…sometimes a man just needs to post somewhere online.

What better place to do that than the one place I go to to keep up with internet culture?

I'm fascinated by the internet and the way the online society differs from real life (and how it affects our society too). KYM does a good job of keeping track of what internet culture is up to, that's why I have been lurking it for years.

I shouldn't need to point out the awesomeness that goes on around here either.

>New stuff everyday.
>The forum (especially Just for fun section).
>Interesting people.
>Brony subculture.
>discovering some meme.

And entertaining troll too.I just love this site.

I have fun interacting with you people. You keep me in touch. You see and appreciate the inner me, something that people in real life can't do. You are like the third family I never had, lol.

I swear that this site was geared directly towards my interests. When I started lurking about 10 months ago, I knew only a little about internet culture, and now I consider myself pretty well-informed (I still refuse to go to 4chan though, tough). When I was lurking, I came back to learn more about memes and stuff that I kept seeing all over the place.

Now that I have an account, there are a couple of things that keep me coming back. First is the community. You guys are great, and I made some good friends here. (Who said online friends aren't real?) And I probably would have gone insane over the past few weeks without the on-demand friendship that KYM offers.

I still like learning about internet culture – I like studying things, and the internet is a good and complicated subject. A lot of the stuff that gets documented here is interesting, not to mention funny.

I also like to edit the occasional entry. Let me just say this: I refuse to leave the site until at least one of my entries is confirmed.

I would say people.

I'm actually getting tired of memes due to my real life surroundings being invaded by 9GAG noobs that don't really know how memes should work… Yeah, it's painful. So it's not really the memes, but actually reasearching them (well, when I used to do it).

Actually, what I've discovered in my experience with you guys is a way to interact with creative people that give me with inspiring ideas. The Stars thread and the cheeto have actually motivated me to look for creative and inventive ways to develop photo edits I couldn't be able to do if it wasn't for you guys.

I mean, where could I ever think of combining a newspaper, space, Elton John and Bullit in a single pic?

The answer is here.

So all I have to say to you my friend is… Thank you for allowing me to get insane.

The community here. Especially the bronies (and haters) on pony general. Sure, it's small, but everyone there is just so, so, special. We're top tier bronies. We're the 1%. We are best pony.

Ever notice those extremist bronies? The ones that makes pony haters into pony haters? The ones that spam ponies in every one of their posts, even when it's not relevant, flame others for hating ponies, and revolve their entire lives around ponies? They give the brony community a terrible name, and I'm sorry to say that there are more than just a few of them out there.

We completely defy the stereotype. One step in the thread, and you become more enamoured with ponies, with life, with everything. Former trolls have seen the errors of their ways after seeing our thread (ahem 404). Pony haters become pony lovers when they realize how sensible bronies can be, all thanks to us. So go, give it a try. I'll leave you at the newest page as of this post. The rest is up to you.

I've had the opposite experience with some of our resident bronies.
Still, my jimmies remain unrustled.

Choice, I choose to stay. You people don't influence my decision in any way.

I'm kidding. In truth, I enjoy the community. You're all hilarious. I could leave at any moment, that's true. But really, why would I? I don't see the reason to make a conscious choice of becoming more boring. So, in short, I stay because you all entertain me.

I stay because all of you guys are nice to me and don't mock me for who I am! I mean you guys are the only social life I have…

I will type more up later today after school BUT I MUST GO!
WHOOOOSH!!!

Everyone who makes KYM a fantastic and an awesome place. Not only that the forum has been entertaining me for some months now, I get to know good people along my journey to the greatest depths of the mystical forum (and the dirtiest one …)

You guys always make my day ecstatic and I love you guys. And all I have to say is…

The community here wipes its ass with most internet communities.

And besides, it's not designated to a game or anything, so you guys don't bitch constantly, like the Skyrim, TOR, WoW, etc. forums.

At first, I was joining, so I could be like one of the researchers…but it turns out that I would never do that. I used to lurk a lot at the comments section, and when I started to post on the forums, no one really cared. So, I didn't really know why I was staying on KYM at that time, probably to quench my thirst for attention, I think.
When I became popular(sort of), I joined the IRC, and everyone has these awesome images and ideas, constantly posted, and awesome people are here, with awesome jokes. In a nutshell, I'm saying that all the forums and IRC are awesome.

I came on a friend's casual request of meme knowledge, and fell into deep, passionate love with the site. When I can get away from school and work, I am here, and all my troubles melt away upon reading the forums or browsing a few pics. Oh, and the Pony General Thread totally revamped my life. Add in some absolutely HILARIOUS users, this place always knows how to cheer me up. KYM, I shall cherish you always…

  • There are some interesting people here.

I always thought that most people online were so…different from me…that I wouldn't feel comfortable communicating with them. I like sports, I don't like computer games, FPSs, I'm a Christian (a bit liberal though,) dark as the ace of spades, I don't think OP is a fag (and I hate the term,) etc. I didn't post online with strangers at all until I happened across the comments in the MLP:FiM article, and that eventually brought me to the forums making me use that old account I've had forever.

But the interesting forum topics, games, and conversation from users is what made me stay here. Friends keep me here currently. I don't like a lot of users now that I've gotten to know them, I don't like some of the newer users, and the topic quality has dropped off in my opinion (Iced Hot X freakin' rawks though.) But I still like the forum community on the whole.

The fact that I have so many complaints but still decide to stay probably says a lot about how I feel like a part of the community here.

I love you too, Verdose.

I'm going to be totally honest with you, I joined for the ponies. But what keeps me coming on here are all the wonderful, funny people and the awesome discussions/threads we have on here. Also, 4chan scares me and I think the size of the community here is of perfect size.

Know Your Meme: Come for the ponies, stay for the community

Man this thread is sappy.

I stay for the users, really. It's good to have someone say hello to you every time you log on to the irc. Even if it doesn't mean much, it's good to be acknowledged. I get to talk to people who have the same interest as me or get to meet people who are the total opposite. When I upload tons of pictures to the site, then get praised by users or mods, it feels like I'm a part of something.
It's also great to hear people talk over skype, instead of just reading text.

The community and the forum games, i think that ive grown a fondness over almost all of you guy's over the 4 months ive been here, my only regret is not comming here sooner.

A long to ago in a galaxy not far away I was searching on Youtube and I come across with
a KYM Episode, not sure which one but the Episodes were so good I went on the website and check out the Meme Entrys, I so impressed creative the internet can be, The only forums I was on back then was Roblox which only use memes that whould not rustle some mom's jimmies, A Few months later I stoped playing roblox which is now full of Spam, Trolls, and 5 Year-olds who think there "Cool" for calling people they don't like noobs, Then I started posting on the forums of a Gmod RP Server, There I got a little more mature but now the server seems broing, Then one day a Thread got Front paged on KYM, That's when I realized this website has a Forum, So I Logged Into My account, Posted in some Thread Games and sure enough this place was freakin awesome, Funny Creative People with similar interests and Respecting Admins who are amazingly not a-holes. It Felt like my life changed meeting all of you awesome people,
I can't thank you guys enough with one image, But Guess what…

I really don't want to give out too much, but here goes:
This place is my home. Real life has been a long and painful road for me, and I sought refuge in the internet. I found Pony General 4 one day. It was an extremly rockey start, but they took me in, gave me comfort and the strength of the community. They gave me a place I could call "home". They are my family, more so than anyone IRL. They are what keeps me here. I know I've only recently begun posting outside there, but I feel that you all are my family here too. One big happy, dysfunctional family.
