Well, here's a thread where we talk about the characters we've seen some people suggest for Super Smash Bros that would not fit at all or are just plain weird.

So, when I followed Sakurai PODs, there was always this one guy who would always suggest either characters from the Total Drama Island series, or Boog and Elliot from the Open Season movies (he also suggested the lead character of Surf's Up once as well. Kid must love his Sony movies). What made it especially face-palm worthy was that his avatar was a Mii of Bomberman…who has far more of a chance of getting in a SSB game than a bunch of Sony Animation characters.

A friend of mine requested Max Payne non-ironically.

I request the MGR bosses, particularly monsoon, so that could be considered pretty strange i guess.

I've seen Shrek to be suggested many times, even see a petition for it.

I blame the whole "Love and life" thing.

I don't get how anyone can think either of them would be included.

I remember suggesting that to someone IRL.

I'm being serious when I say that Scout would be cool to have in Smash.

Some bad and outright bizarre ones I've seen include Big the Cat (Sonic), Morrigan Aensland (Darkstalkers), almost every Shonen Jump character under the sun, and Doraemon.

To be fair. I always wanted Chunky Kong in Smash bros…

Yes, I would have liked Rythem Heaven to get a rep in the game. However, the bandwagon effect from the Gematsu leak turned everyone into spoiled brats that wouldn't have it any other way. Worst of all vast majority of them where ignorant to the Rythem Heaven series and didn't know the Chorus Kids only appeared once, AND they still insisted that they would control like Ice Climbers even after it was confirmed the Ice Climbers where not coming back due to hardware.

And once people put their pride and soul into believing the kids would get into the game oh man did they turn from respectable human beings into monstrous brats, I tell you.

I heard someone say they wanted the main protagonist of Silent Hill 2 in Smash Bros.

You aren't the only one. Sometimes I imagine how pretty much all the TF2 mercs would play if they were in SSB, myself.

On a serious note, I've seen people discuss whether or not Skullgirls characters should be in Smash Bros.
Although that would be insanely awesome.

Goku, I mean wtf are you thinking you fucking DBZ fanboys, Goku will never be in Smash because it is an anime character. Have you notice that all the characters in Smash started out in video games? Fuck me!

why do people want every anime character to be in smash? what honestly makes you think putting an alien monkey guy or a ninja kid with a fox spirit inside of him a good idea.

I have a Mii Gunner version of Peacock on my copy. I think that's the closest I'm going to get though.

Believe it or not, there are actually people who want Pichu back…seemingly for no other reason than he was in Melee, if if they can bring back Mewtwo and Dr. Mario, surely they can bring him (and Roy) back, right?. Right?!1!? (Yeah, remind me, who was the useless joke character again?)

Also, I was just flipping through PODs and found someone who requested "Miss Bowser" and Santa Claus, among a bunch of others.

…."Miss Bowser"???

I saw one post on Miiverse suggesting Flamedramon from Digimon be in the roster.

I don't know, I'd get Pichu if he was available. Even if he is purposely terrible, he's funny to play, especially if you win. Miss Bowser though…

I also remember there was one guy on a few Miiverse posts who really wanted the Powerpuff Girls and would get in dumb fights with people about it.

I remember often drawing Ludwig von Koopa requets in Miiverse in mid-2014.
I really wished he was in Smash, but I also joked a bit about it.

I've always liked the idea of Pyro in Smash.

It seems legit since it's a nintendo game, but I don't think he would fit in SSB.

If you mean Nintendo as in on a Nintendo system, yeah, but Nintendo never published it. It's a Square Enix game, right?

Indeed. It's a Square Enix game released for Nintendo DS.

If a Square Enix game character where to make it into Smash Bros, it would either be Black Mage, Cloud, or an Advertising Ploy. Not Geno, not Neku, not any of the characters from Bravely Default…

Crash Bandicoot. Too tied to Sony, and Naughty Dog aren't pals with Sakurai and company.

Also, people are seriously calling Ridley a weird suggestion? He's first party, and would most likely work as the next Metroid rep. (Sakurai's word on the subject is kind of moot at this point considering he's not going to direct the next game.)

One time I saw some guy on the Steam Forums say that Chell from Portal 2 should playable, which would be impossible considering Valve has nothing to do with Nintendo and the Portal Gun isn't exactly a tool designed for combat.
