The rising trend of people using the "Psychological Horror" tag on Steam for meme value.

It just saddens me to see a tag being used for such a thing when there are clear and better examples of actual psychological horror games. It's very disheartening for one who enjoys the genre, to see random, poorly-made/low effort/not at all psychological horror games get meme'd up for the sake of press. I guess most of the blame should be on Steam and how they handle (or don't handle) their marketplace, and you can just tag what you will.

Like, look at this.

There's so many things wrong with this, I don't even know where to begin. It's just pathetic, almost, to see "meme games" blot out what could be actually exciting experiences.

Psy-Horror makes sense with FNaF6 and DDLC, maybe Hello Neighbor except this could just be regular horror, but the rest I agree. Like, why the fuck is CoD in this list?

I most recently saw this tag in Getting Over It, and after viewing it, could see how it could be stretched to fit the tag as the narrator disseminates modern consumerism to feel how jarring it is, but Psy-Horror is supposed to be chilling, not lambasting democracy.

It's nothing really new, really. I gave up on tag searching in steam since the day it was implemented.

What REALLY saddens me(and even pisses me off) is removal of negative votes in reviews. Now I can't see how many people agreed with certain review and therefore can't decide if review is credible or not. They said it for review bombing protection, but I can't see how it helps with the problem. I read reviews myself and review bombing haven't affected me. But now without negative votes I should go back to searching reviews on Metacritic and youtube.

Yeah, it's really helped to filter some of the whiniest retards on Steam!
The most common ones are those who get into technical issues, and instead of checking if it's a common problem, or asking devs for help in the forum – they instantly write a negative review!
Or just people like this:
