Boston Dynamics "Do You Love Me?" Robot Dance Video refers to a viral video featuring several Boston Dynamics robots performing a choreographed dance to the 1962 rock and roll song "Do You Love Me" by The Contours.

Origin

On December 29th, 2020, the Boston Dynamics YouTube channel posted a video titled "Do You Love Me?" in which the Atlas and Handle model robots dance in formation to the song "Do You Love Me" (shown below). In less than 24 hours, the video gained over 470,000 views and 8,000 comments.



Spread

That day, Matroid CEO Reza Zadeh tweeted the video along with a message stating that "dancing makes robots less intimidating" (shown below). Within two hours, the tweets received over 3,500 likes, 2,700 quote tweets and 1,200 retweets.



Meanwhile, Redditor btutal submitted the video to the /r/videos[1] subreddit, where it gained upwards of 700 points (95% upvoted) in two hours. Also on December 29th, 2020, YouTuber Marques Brownlee tweeted a GIF from the video, noting that "Working at Boston Dynamics must be part terrifying part incredibly fun" (shown below).



Additionally, Elon Musk tweeted[5] a link to the YouTube video along with the message "This is not CGI."
That day, several news and entertainment sites posted the video, including Ebaumsworld,[2] Gizmodo[3] and The Verge.[4]
