Introduction
This meme is based on a video of a sculpture I made in 1996. The sculpture has a small, carved, wooden head, powered by a motor, that repeatedly bangs on a brick. The original video includes audio of the sculpture in action.
It has come to be used as a symbol of frustration. I think widespread lockdowns this year, meant a rise in global frustration and 'Brick' caught some of that.

Background
I posted it to my instagram on October 10, 2017 Nik Ramage IG 1 4295 views
and on December 11, 2018 Nik Ramage IG 2 5757 views.

I uploaded stills and video of 'Brick' to my website on May 24, 2018 nikramage.com

February 13, 2020 @clemmzrs posted a digital 3-d rendered version clemmzrs 3D version 18,503 views. On March 4, 2020 I posted three of @clemmzrs versions of my works, including 'Brick' Nik Ramage IG 3 x Clemmzrs 1708 likes.

Origin
On March 5, 2020 I posted 'Brick' as one of a set of three (my original versions of the three @clemmzrs had chosen) Nik Ramage IG4 9754 likes. I have cited this as the source.

@weirdanimation and @colossal both credited me.

I'm not quite sure what happened next!
I did see it was reposted, often to users' Instagram story, so harder to trace. It started to be labelled with 'Monday Mood', 'Talking to a Trump Supporter about climate change,' 'Me everyday' 'Talking to my Boss' etc.
I think widespread lockdowns meant a rise in global frustration and 'Brick' symbolised some of that.

On March 24, 2020, @Barbie_Angel4 posted it on Twitter, watermarked to @weirdanimation Bomboclaat 33.8M views with 11.4K retweets and 42.7K Quote Tweets, 1K comments and 42.4K likes. You can see comments using @DownloaderBot.

It turned up on Facebook (a friend did his best to credit me every time he saw it.)
I saw it as a GIF from Tenor

October 30, 2020 it turned up here as part of this video, now as part of a meme vocabulary
Sequence with additions

It would be nice to have been more credited as the source but I am pleased it was so widely shared. It had a life of its own.
Here's hoping we can retrace some of that life!
