Ways That Are Dark, A Foreigner's Perspective on China During the Warlord Era

Now it's more than likely that the points brought up here are a complete crock of s---; but I found the contemporary view of China during the Warlord Era (just after the fall of the the Qing, but before the invasion of Japan and the rise of the CCP) by an outsider to be quite interesting, even if it is horribly biased.

Ideally, it'd be nice to read about China from a Chinese perspective; but they burnt them all because Mao said "History Bad".

If any of you want, the book in it's entirety <a href="https://babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/pt?id=mdp.39015003467712&view=1up&seq=1">can be found here</a>.

So China's Ministry of Education recently released a report called <a href="https://radiichina.com/masculine-feminization-teenagers/"> The Proposal to Prevent the Feminisation of Male Adolescents</a> (关于防止男性青少年女性化的提案) and I found it a lot funnier than I probably should have.

Basically it's complaining that all the young male Chinese are looking up to 小鲜肉 (<a href="http://www.szdaily.com/content/2014-07/15/content_9808594.htm">Little Fresh Meat</a>) as role models and are emulating them. This has resulted in a large rise of squeaky clean, androgynous Nancy-boys.

Now, there is nothing wrong with this.....unless you are a brutal police state who relies on hard and ruthless men to govern it effectively.

That would be very unfortunate, especially if all of the leaders are old men and could suddenly drop dead at any second without any warning.
