Overview

Actress Cassandra Peterson, better known as her horror hostess character Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, created a viral video of donating her Tesla to NPR ^[1]. “Here goes my ELON SUX mobile – I’m donating it to NPR!” she says in the video, while waving a chainsaw over her head (mocking Elon Musk's similar performance at CPAC 2025^[3]). She extends a middle finger to the car as the truck drives away, as AC/DC’s “Highway to Hell” plays in the background.

On February 28, 2025, Peterson posted the video to Instagram ^[1]. “I believe in democracy. I believe in freedom. I think what’s happening to our government is absolutely frightening and I could never believe it would happen in my entire life,” "Peterson said in an interview Sunday. “So, I don’t want to drive something around that represents a person who is directly trying to take away our freedoms.”^[2]
