Overview

Roblox.Osaka Controversy refers to accusations aimed at TikToker Roblox.Osaka, the owner of a TikTok page dedicated to the 'Who Can It Be Now?' Osaka meme, alleging that the content creator asked an AI bot in a Discord chat to create rule 34 images of a 10-year-old character named Chiyo from the Azumanga Daioh anime. The creator was also accused of racism after screenshots of his Discord channel were posted on Twitter / X, purportedly showing him saying the N-word repeatedly. Online, the allegations have sparked a debate on X and some POV memes on TikTok about people's reactions to finding out the accusations against the creator.

On April 1st, 2024, a series of memes featuring screenshots from a Discord server created by TikToker @Roblox.Osaka went viral on the platform, showing the creator allegedly asking for an AI bot to create rule 34 images of underage characters from the Azumanga Daioh anime. One of the earliest videos was posted by TikTok user @user076131295^[1] that day, who showed screenshots of the Discord channel (shown below), which amassed more than 9,000 plays and 1,400 likes in two days.

On April 2nd, X^[2] user @Craftiest_2 created a Thread detailing all the accusations and supposed evidence dating back to January 31st, 2024, against Roblox.Osaka. The post (shown below) alleges Roblox Osaka went to his public Discord chat and asked for an "image bot to give rule 34, not any rule 34 tho, rule 34 of a 10-year-old anime character named Chiyo." The post also showed alleged screenshots of Roblox Osaka writing the N-word repeatedly in the Discord chat. The thread amassed more than 80,000 likes and 10,000 retweets in a day.

As of early April 2024, the creator hadn't commented on the accusations about him. However, on April 3rd, 2024, @roblox.osaka^[3] posted a version of the 'Who Can It Be Now?' Osaka meme from inside a prison cell captioned "Discord's Version," which garnered more than 3,300 likes in a few hours.

Online Reactions

The controversy sparked a debate on X and TikTok while also inspiring ironic memes making fun of the content creator. For example, on April 1st, 2024, TikTok^[4] user @osakaaddict_ posted an image of the character Osaka paired with the overlay text "Me waking up to see roblox.osaka finally having his downfall," which amassed more than 186,000 plays and 26,700 likes in two days. On April 2nd, TikTok^[5] user @bigmoneybigd posted an image of Vegeta staring menacingly as a reaction to the overlay text "I'm glad my 10-year-old is safe!" The post (shown below, right) received roughly 60 likes in a day.
