Dormtainment is a comedy collective that was founded in 2009, originating from Atlanta, Georgia[2]. They achieved popularity through their YouTube videos, accumulating over 1.1m subscribers to their YouTube channel[3] and over 189m accumulative views on their videos[4].
In 2012, they released "Hug A Thug", a news story parody about thugs in need of hugs. The video became notable for featuring Chaz Miller's character "Shy", a thug who shies away anytime the camera is on him, culminating in him fainting. The video accrued over 1.3m views.
