About

Holy Christ, There's Nothing Left refers to a memorable scene from the 2014 film RoboCop in which protagonist Alex Murphy / RoboCop (portrayed by actor Joel Kinnaman) sees how little human parts still remain in his cyborg body. Starting in 2023, the scene has been used as a caption meme format, used in formats such as First Person to Fall Asleep at the Sleepover.

Origin

On February 12th, 2014, the American action movie RoboCop, a remake of a 1987 film, premiered in the United States.[1] In one scene of the film, protagonist Alex Murphy / RoboCop, a cyborg police officer who was critically injured in a car-bomb explosion and put into a cybernetic body, is allowed to see the few human parts of his body that still remain. Shocked by his body being reduced to his head, lungs and a singular hand, Murphy exclaims in desperation, "Holy Christ, there's nothing left" (scene shown below).

Holy Christ. Holy Christ. Holy Christ, there's nothing left!
