"I don't get it" is a popular catchphrase used in some memes or comics to show that a character is out of the loop. It starts with a very obvious comment or picture. This will be followed up by a picture of someone who would be oblivious to the facts. Then the phrase "I don't get it" will be attached.
Origin
I don't get it has been used in comics and memes on 9GAG[1] and Reddit[2]. Certain users[3] have speculated that it also might be the oldest known meme ever.
