About
It's Not Fucking Weed You Piece Of Shit Stoner is a famous Kermit's Mystery Box thread from 4chan in which a poster attempts to reenact the "Kermit's Mystery Box" viral video by offering the first clue that it is "something green." After an anon responds "weed," the OP states "IT'S NOT FUCKING WEED YOU PIECE OF SHIT STONER." The thread has often been quoted when someone offhandedly mentions that something resembles marijuana. The screenshot itself has also been redrawn as an exploitable.
Origin
The original thread was first posted to 4chan on August 10th, 2012 (shown below, left). Though the original thread appears lost, a screenshot of it was reposted widely online. One of the earliest known parodies of the thread was posted to YouTube on April 19th, 2013, by YouTuber Wafflebandito,[1] who had Coodoo17 read the thread (shown below, right).
Spread
Over the following years, the catchphrase "it's not fucking weed you piece of shit stoner" was often quoted online when someone mentioned something that reminded them of marijuana. For example, on August 16th, 2014, Tumblr user faustsfancycorner[2] quoted it in a thread that ultimately gained over 166,000 notes in eight years (shown below, left). On December 8th, 2016, Tumblr user speedoweedo[3] quoted it in a thread that gained over 156,000 notes over six years (shown below, right).
The thread also inspired memes in which people replaced the posters with different characters from pop culture, particularly Pokémon. For example, Tumblr user bass-bagel edited the thread to make it appear as though it were a conversation between Pokémon Sun and Moon characters Lillie and Guzma, though the post has since been deleted (shown below, left). On March 18th, 2022, Twitter user @R1ZMY[4] posted art of the Pokémon Treecko reenacting the thread with Sprigatito and Litten, gaining over 1,600 retweets and 5,300 likes in six months (shown below, right).
