JAKA JAN (Japanese: じゃかじゃん) is the Japanese onomatopoeia of the noise made when playing a guitar, and a quote from the Japanese anime/manga series K-On!.

This scene has been used in MAD videos on Nico Nico Douga (NND) due to its cuteness.

JAKA JAN was appeared in the 3rd episode of the second season of TV anime series K-ON!, which was first aired in April 20th, 2010 in Japan. It was a remark by Yui Hirasawa when she showed her ideas for not making Ritsu Tainaka, the drummer of the band, feel lonely in the back.

Based on the huge popularity continuing since the 1st season, every single quotes and scenes in the anime was the target of fan creations. Among them, this epic scene which was appeared in comparatively early episode was one of the most frequently reused materials in fan creations throughout the 2nd season. In addition, many MAD videos of this quote were uploaded to NND because this rythmic phrase easily fit to many kind of music as well as Untan.

More than 100 videos related to this quote had been posted to NND in its first year, and its amount is still increasing slowly.[1]

In contrast to NND, the presence of K-ON's fan creations on YouTube isn't so large because many videos has been deleted due to copyright claim by Tokyo Broadcasting System Inc.[2]
