Nurse Carrying Poop refers to a viral image of a nurse carrying an abnormally large poop through a hospital hallway. The image was uploaded to Reddit in March 2021 and went viral that December after being reposted to Twitter, becoming an exploitable image macro in the following days.

Origin

The exact origins and story behind the image are unknown. On March 6th, 2021, a now-deleted Redditor posted the image to /r/mindblowing^[1] titled "Is this person alive?" referring to the pooper, gaining over 300 upvotes before being removed (shown below). On March 7th it was posted to /r/poopknife^[2] by Redditor ChatnNaked titled "Nurse! Poopknife! STAT!!," gaining over 200 upvotes in nine months. It is unclear if the original poster owns the image or where it originated.

Spread

The image spread over the course of the year through reposts. On March 10th, 2021, it was posted to /r/absoluteunits.^[3] On April 23rd it was then posted to /r/WTF.^[4] On May 7th, Imgur^[5] user AwesomeDad420 posted an image macro using the image captioned "Rectum? Damn near killed 'em," gaining over 89,000 views and 2,100 upvotes in seven months (shown below, left). On October 23rd, Redditor Pimmelsenator posted an edited version of the image to /r/meme^[7] with a Guinness Book of World Records stamp overtop, gaining over 4,900 upvotes in two months (shown below, right).

On December 5th, Twitter^[6] user @ImKindaFunny901 posted the image captioned "I’d quit immediately do you hear me immediately," gaining over 112,000 likes and 28,000 retweets in three days (shown below).
