Brandon Wardell is an American comedian currently located in Los Angeles, California. He specializes in online humor, having a verified Twitter account with over 30,000 followers, and over 8 million loops on his Vine account among others. He gained traction around 2016 with his help of spreading Dicks Out For Harambe.

Origin

Wardell was grew up in Fairfax Virginia. Wardell was featured early in his career by the Washington Post [1] . Following the article, Wardell, who was attending VCU, dropped out and moved to Los Angeles to pursue comedy.

Spread

Wardell gained notoriety for his help in spreading the phrase "Dicks Out For Harambe". On July 2nd, 2016, fellow Twitter comedian, @sexualjumanji posted a selfie photograph in which he is shown pointing a replica firearm at the camera along with the caption "We comin with them dicks out to avenge harambe!!!" (shown below, left). On July 4th, comedian Brandon Wardell tweeted phrase "dicks out for harambe" (shown below, right).

That day, Wardell posted a Vine of a group of men chanting "dicks out for Harambe" (shown below, left). On July 6th, Wardell uploaded a Vine of himself with actor Danny Trejo in which the pair say the phrase "dicks out for Harambe" (shown below, right). Within five days, the video gathered upwards of 2.2 million loops, 1,100 likes and 700 revines.



Matt Rife Beef

On August 6th, Wardell posted 2 tweets mocking fellow stand-up comedian, Matt Riffe, for his Instagram page (shown below).





Matt Rife quickly went private (which subsequently removed his verified status on his Twitter), however vlogger and underground interviewer YouTube channel, No Jumper, did a video elaborates the beef, including Rife's deleted tweets, and that he had posted racist tweets in the past.



Culture magazine, Complex, later did an article on the racist tweets he had done in the past, and on the beef. [2]
