DJ Earworm is the moniker of San Francisco disc-jockey Jordan Roseman. He is best known for his United State of Pop remixes, which are remixes he has released at the end of every calendar year which mashes up the Top 25 Billboard pop hits from the previous year.

History

Roseman grew up in Evanston, Illinois and studied at the University of Illinois.[1] He began creating remixes in 2003, and took on the moniker DJ Earworm. Earworm uses Ableton Live and Adobe Audition to create his mashups. He creates the videos that accompany his mashups with Final Cut Pro X.

United State of Pop Remixes

Roseman created his first United State of Pop remix for 2007. A YouTube upload for the remix posted January 7th, 2008 by kliz9 gained over 5.4 million views (shown below, left). He began uploading the remixes to his YouTube channel starting with his 2008 remix, which gained over 13 million views (shown below, right).


His 2009 remix gained over 49 million views, making it one of his most popular remixes (shown below, top left). His 2010 remix gained over 19 million views (shown below, top right); his 2011, 13 million views (shown below, bottom right); and his 2012 13 million views (shown below, bottom right). His remixes for 2008, 2009, and 2010 were featured in a FACT magazine exhibit on The Art of Pop Video which ran between 2010 and 2013.


DJ Earworm's 2013 remix marked a small departure from his previous work, as the song was less of a dance track than previous works. The video gained over 10 million views (shown below, top left); his 2014 remix gained 22 million views (shown below, top right); his 2015 remix, which featured 50 tracks instead of 25, gained 13 million views (shown below, bottom left); his 2016 remix gained 3.7 million views (shown below, bottom right).



On December 14th, 2017, he released his 2017 remix, which gained over 187,000 views in a few hours (shown below).

DJ Earworm has released an annual "SummerMash" remix since summer of 2013 (examples shown below).
