About

Leonardo Da Vinci was a famous scientist, painter and Mathematician among other things, well known for his work on The Mona Lisa and the Vitruvian Man.

Background

Leonardo Da Vinci was born on April 15, 1452. Around 1498, Leonardo finished work on his painting The Last Supper[1]. The painting depicted the events of Jesus Christ's last meal with his disciples, as shown in the bible[2]. His most famous work, The Mona Lisa[3], was believed to have been finished around 1519. Da Vinci also created the Vitruvian Man[4] drawing around 1490 based on Roman architect Vitruvius[5]’ vision of the male human body.
