Level UP is a YouTube channel which makes 8-bit animations parodying video games in short skits. The videos often imagine recognizable characters in other series or apply realistic rules to video game conventions.
History
Level UP's creator is identified as Nelly.[1] The channel launched on November 15th, 2015. The earliest video on the channel was posted January 28th, 2016, featuring an original character (shown below, left). The channel's second video, posted March 6th, featured Nintendo characters racing through a Super Mario level and gained over 15 million views (shown below, right).
As of January 23rd, 2019, the channels most popular videos are a crossover between Baldi's Basics and Sonic the Hedgehog (22 million views, shown below, left) and a video showing Mario and Donkey Kong having switched places (21 million views, shown below, right).

Level UP has accumulated over 900,000 subscribers as of January 23rd, 2019.[1] Level UP has an affiliate channel, Team Level UP, which showcases other animators and has over 123,000 subscribers.[2]
