Mr. Safety is American YouTuber Cory Williams' internet persona. Williams is known for being one of the first professional YouTubers and runs the YouTube accounts SMP Films, LiveEachDay (formerly DudeLikeHELLA) and MrSafety which features mostly vlog videos and comedy sketches.

Online History

On October 24th, 2005, after his years of involvement on Newgrounds and MySpace, Cory Williams joined YouTube and created the account SMP Films. His first video was a comedy sketch titled, "HANDS in the TOASTER!" (shown below, left). The video gained over 436,600 views and 4,800 likes in 14 years. On September 5th, 2007, SMP Films uploaded their most popular video "The Mean Kitty Song" which went viral and accumulated over 90.4 million views and 563,000 likes in 12 years (shown below, right). The SMP Channel has gained over 627,100 subscribers in 14 years.

Over the next few years, Cory Williams created two new accounts, MrSafety which was devoted to music videos and LiveEachDay which is his vlog. On April 5th, 2014, MrSafety upload the channel's most popular video "Stuff In My Dryer" which accumulated over 258,100 views in five years. The MrSafety channel has acquired over 55,300 subscribers in five years. On October 13th, LiveEachDay uploaded "Coolest Sound Ever!" which went viral and gained over 12.5 million views and 2,700 likes in five years (shown below, right). LiveEachDay has gained over 420,700 subscribers in eight years.

On August 7th, 2019, Cory Williams uploaded a video to his channel LiveEachDay in which he announces that he will be leaving YouTube in October due to a 96% loss of viewership. Though he blames YouTube's new algorithm for the loss he says he still loves the platform. The video gained over 54,400 views and 4,600 likes in seven days.

Reputation

In November 2006, Mr. Safety hosted “The Fizz" on DirecTV Channel 101 which highlighted the best internet videos of the time.[3] On December 10th, 2008, The New York Times[2] listed Williams as one of the first professional YouTubers in an article titled, "YouTube Videos Pull In Real Money." Williams has been on numerous talk shows in the early 2000s due to his YouTube success. In 2017, Cory Williams was a cast member of the Discovery Channel's season eight of Naked and Afraid.[1]

Personal Life

Due to his vlog LiveEachDay, the YouTube audience has been let into Cory Williams personal life. He has been married multiple times and is now married to Kristen and they have two children. On October 26, 2015, Kristen announced to Cory Williams that she was pregnant in a LiveEachDay video (shown below). The video gained over 6.2 million views in four years.
