Overview
Nick Kosir also known as The Dancing Weatherman is a FOX Weather meteorologist best known for performing TikTok dances and saying popular TikTok phrases during his weather reports. In 2009, while working for KBTV-TV, Kosir became known as "the rapping weatherman" for occasionally rapping his weather reports, which he also uploaded to YouTube to mild success. Kosir has over 5 million followers on TikTok as of October 2022.
History
The Rapping Weatherman
In October 2008, Nick Kosir began working as the meteorologist on KBTV-TV, based in Beaumont, Texas. Beyond simple weather reports, Kosir also did numerous on-the-street interview segments and became known as the rapping weatherman for rapping some of his weather reports. On March 15th, 2009, he uploaded his first segment to his YouTube channel, Nick Kosir, titled, "The Rapping Weatherman visits Liberty Tax," garnering over 3,100 views in 13 years (shown below, left). On July 10th, he uploaded his first on-air rapping of a weather report to YouTube, garnering over 320,000 views in the same span of time (shown below, right).
Kosir uploaded numerous other raps to YouTube over the years, with the fourth rap gaining over 750,000 views in 11 years (shown below).
The Dancing Weatherman
On September 5th, 2019, Kosir began posting dance videos to TikTok[1] @officialnickkosir. He consistently posted videos over the following years and gained a following, mostly dancing on the FOX Weather set, although not while live. In 2021, Kosir began working for FOX Weather.[2] On October 28th, 2021, he posted a video dancing on the new set, garnering over 160,000 views in a year (shown below). On October 29th, he posted a video to TikTok[3] where he says "bussin' bussin'" during a weather report at the request of a viewer, garnering over 500,000 views in a year. This became a recurring video type on his page. On November 30th, he said, "Bing Bong" in a video, garnering over 1.9 million views in 11 months (shown below, right).

Kosir's videos became increasingly popular in July 2022. On July 8th, he posted a video of himself doing the Griddy on live TV to TikTok,[4] garnering over 8.4 million views in three months. He posted a second video hitting the Griddy on September 7th, garnering over 14 million views in a month (shown below).

On September 21st, Kosir posted a video to TikTok where he says "Are you serious right neow bro?" on TV, a reference to the iShowSpeed Wannabes meme, garnering over 18.8 million views in two weeks (shown below, left). On October 5th, he posted a video doing another dance on TV, garnering over 3 million views in a day (shown below, right).

Online Presence
Kosir has a significant following online, including over 5.1 million followers on TikTok and 2 million followers on Instagram.[5] His fandom is the largest on TikTok, where some people create fancams and edits about him. For example, on September 15th, 2022, TikToker @lsevans5 posted a fancam of Kosir, garnering over 3 million views in a month (shown below).
