About
Skyviewray's "Let's Go" or Skyviewray's N-Word Reaction refers to a clip of YouTuber Skyviewray saying the N-word after it appears on-screen.
Origin
On July 22nd, 2017, American YouTuber Skyviewray posted[1] a video reacting to a SpongeBob SquarePants YouTube Poop called "Spinge Binge: Me Millionth Dollar" (shown below, left). Before the video's visibility was set to private, it received over 1.3 million views. At 2:19 in the video, Skyviewray starts the reaction by saying "Let's go." A parody of a SpongeBob title card with the N-word appears and Skyviewray repeats the word in a shocked voice. He drops his popsicle, puts his hand over his mouth in shock, and asks, "Is this a racist cartoon?" An isolated clip of the reaction uploaded[2] on June 20th, 2018 has received more than 4.4 million views. Another reupload posted[3] on August 2nd, 2019 has gained over a million views in a year (shown below, right).
Spread
Skyviewray's N-Word reaction has since inspired numerous imitations and references. In December 2020, parodies of the reaction began appearing with more regularity. On December 13th, 2020 Twitter[4] post by British YouTuber PickSurprise (shown below). The parody gained over 14,000 likes in a week. A YouTube[5] reupload received over 40,000 views in the same period.
