Games Repainted is the collective group of people who take a well-known game, such as Super Mario Sunshine, Paper Mario series, Rhythm Heaven and Undertale and completely replace the game's textures, generally for comedic effect. Depending on the game, cutscenes, dialogue, or subtitles may also be edited. One or more of the members then has to play through the repainted version of the game, and the result is streamed to Youtube and Twitch. Several repaintings have been created and submitted by fans. ^[1][2]

Origin

On October 4, 2014, Youtube account TheFappingGuys streamed a playthrough of Luigi's Mansion with heavily altered textures, including changing Luigi's clothes to those of Chowder, who would go on to become a mascot of sorts for the channel. The stream proved reasonably popular, and on March 15, 2015, the Games Reapainted Youtube channel was founded.

Buff Riku

Buff Riku is an fan-illustration of the character Riku from Kingdom Hearts with excessive muscles. Since appearing in Super Mario Sunshine Repainted, Buff Riku became a favorite of many of the streamers, and consequently became a regular texture in later repaintings.
