Work in Progress

The Platform (original title: El Hoyo) is a 2019 Spanish movie by Galder Gaztelu-Urrutia that premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and was later featured on Netflix on March 20th, 2020.

The movie follows the struggles of the inmates of a vertical prison called the Hole where food is provided from top to bottom on a moving platform, granting the upper inmates access to as much food as they want and leaving little to none for the ones below. Futhermore, inmates are permitted to bring a personal item to the Hole, creating a difference in power between those chosing commodities and those deciding to equip themselves with weapons.
