The Spanish Teacher's Daughter or Spanish Teacher Daughter refers to a series of videos on TikTok by @alexdroppedyou where he films a Black high school student flirting and interacting with a blonde girl referred to as the "Spanish teacher's daughter" or "Overtime Megan" in a variety of places and situations, often in class or around the school. The first video was posted in August 2022 and went viral, inspiring the user (and others) to post more videos about the characters over the following months, framing each one as a television show.

Origin

On August 31st, 2022, TikToker^[1] @alexdroppedyou posted a video showing a Black high school student dancing with another student in class captioned, "this what happens when you let a🥷 take Spanish class," garnering over 3.9 million views in just over a month (shown below, left). On September 1st he posted a similar video to TikTok,^[2] garnering over 3.2 million views in the same rough span of time (shown below, right).

On September 2nd, the TikToker^[3] posted another video captioned, "This 🥷 really got matching fire truck hats, has a %100 in Spanish, and is dancing with the teacher's daughter.." garnering over 9 million views in a month (shown below). This is the first video in the series to user the phrase "Spanish teacher's daughter" to refer to the blonde woman in the videos.

The TikToker posted numerous other videos depicting the two characters interacting over the following weeks, often gaining millions of views. On September 19th, 2022, he posted a video to TikTok^[4] writing, "SEASON 2 EP.1," garnering over 3.4 million views in a month (shown below, left). Each subsequent upload has a season and episode marker in the description as if the videos are a TV series. On September 21st, he posted another video in the series to TikTok,^[5] garnering over 2.7 million views in three weeks (shown below, right).

On September 23rd, he posted a video to TikTok^[6] referring to the blonde girl as "Overtime Megan," another TikToker who looks similar to her (@overtimemegan). On October 3rd, TikToker^[7] @overtimemegan posted a video playing into the meme, captioned, "episode 5: Spanish teacher's daughter (overtime megan) has escaped class and is planning on going to an NFL game instead," garnering over 588,000 views in a week (shown below).

On October 6th, @alexdroppedyou posted a video to TikTok^[8] contributing to the series that garnered over 6 million views in six days (shown below).
