"Why", usually notably posted without punctuation, and often even without capitalization, is a meme associated with YouTube user, Andrew Baker's YouTube videos. The meme was supposedly initiated by YouTube user, Lotte Julia.
On July 14th, 2016, Julia commented on Andrew's YouTube video of a 3D modeling timelapse of a Barcelona lounge chair, simply "why". This was notably posted without capitalization, punctuation, or context as to the specific information he/she was inquiring for.
Julia's comment quickly became the top rated comment on Baker's video.
Two months following, on September 5th, 2016, Baker published another YouTube video; a parody of viner Adam Perkins', "Hi, Welcome to Chili's" vine.
After three short minutes of the parody video's posting, another of Baker's subscribers, Matoskih, commented, "Why". It is speculated that Matoskih's comment was inspired by Julia's comment the on the prior video, though, at this time, no direct and undeniable evidence can prove the comments were associated.
On the same day, Baker posted another video of the same theme, entitled "Loose Cannon Tina", another parody video starring Tina Belcher of Bob's Burgers. Only 20 short minutes of Baker's posting of the parody video, subscriber Emily Leese commented "Why", again notably without punctuation, on the video.
