Rumors That Emma Watson Is Retiring From Acting Inspire Shock And Tributes Online
The internet awoke this morning to a shocking bit of speculation that Emma Watson, star of the Harry Potter films as well as movies like Beauty and the Beast, Little Women and Perks of Being A Wallflower, might be done as an actress.
The rumor was fueled by The Daily Mail, who reported that Watson's agent said she'd gone "dormant," which the publication deemed, "appears to be movie-speak for she's 'given up acting'." Furthermore, The Daily Mail's Charlotte Griffiths speculates that Watson, 30, "has decided to step back from the limelight to spend time with rumored fiance Leo Robinton, who she's been dating for 18 months."
The speculation caused an outpouring of tributes from Twitter users who memorialized Watson's career.
