I'm not downvoting this post like others, nor am I necessarily disagreeing/agreeing with you here.

Increasing taxes isn't an inherent negative, as long as it goes into something. The government taking money and spending it can help the economy, such as with WWII dragging the US out of the Great Depression and into prosperity. However, lower taxes can also be beneficial such as with H.W. Bush's tax cuts as it can encourage the rich to throw money around and buy/invest and not hide it in off-shore accounts or anything.

Increasing taxes can be good or bad, but it depends on where that tax money goes. Is it going into the military, where the budget is already bloated and inefficient, but could also bring some demand to materials, manufacturing, applied research? Is it going into education? Is it just going into repaying national debt that isn't actually important to us in reality due to our godlike credit and inflation nullifying the debts over time anyways?

So basically, taxes aren't inherently anything, it's just where the money goes that matters. His other plans are what make it good or bad tax. Taking money then giving it back.

But will Bernie spend this money wisely and give back an increased value, or will his foreign ideas burn all our hard-earned cash on dreams that are too ambitious to work? That's the question.
