Honestly, Linkle is as much a "female Link" as Supergirl is a female Superman, if that. On the surface it appears to be so, but if you look beyond a first impression you can see that Supergirl is a character in her own right, with her own place in the universe and lore, who's managed to accrue her own fans who like her for the things that make her who she is, distinct from Superman or any other hero. I think it will be a similar scenario for Linkle, and that makes me happy. Linkle even has the advantage of having a distinct weapon/moveset.

Diablo 3's Demon Hunters seem to get along fine with dual crossbows, so why shouldn't Linkle?
