… Sunburst would actually be a fitting name for Firebenders that fire explosive shots from their heads

I know I just said this before somewhere else, but it feels more relevant here. Also, it’s late and I’m not thinking straight.

I know that Starlight’s backstory was weak and that her redemption was rushed, but what I find more intriguing is that abilities like this heavily imply that she’s one of the most powerful characters in the show.

Twilight is supposed to be a magical prodigy, but I distinctly remember back during "Sonic Rainboom" it exhausted her to finish Rarity’s flight spell, and then gave up on replicating it, deciding that it was easier to cast a cloud-walking spell instead.

Starlight was not only able to cast and maintain a spell granting her full flight, she was able to simultaneously fight an Alicorn princess on equal or better terms, to the point that Twilight never actually defeated her, but was forced to talk her down instead.

Where does all that talent come from?
