Normally I'd roll my eyes at this sort of thing as the fandom hijacking a character, like how the ugly jackass that is Snape is depicted as a sadistically sexy beast in fanfiction, but no, this is just a logical extension of Gardevoir's canon traits. Gardevoir is slavishly devoted to and emotionally attached to its trainer, that's literally in the pokedex.
