Paper Mario - "And then out of nowhere, the Nintendo logo appeared in Rogueport"

While Super didn't share the gameplay at all, the story was extremely good, so it gets a pass. Sticker Star and presumably Color Splash had okay-at-best stories, with no companions at all, hardly any memorable characters besides TOADS, and easy-to-win battles that one doesn't even need to participate in. They are extremely watered down versions of the Paper Mario series, and should be called out as such.
