Maybe it's because you can be mildly naked, start a brush fire, chop trees instead of running into them like a mentally impaired hero, have weapons that can break, and CLIMB ALMOST ANYTHING IN THE GAME.

Legend of Scrolls: Dark of the Gear looks promising. Can't wait till Nintendo remakes 20XX.
