Keeping your shield up is generally more important than charging (if you’re lucky you get one kill and die in the process, if not, you just screwed your team for no reason). It’s generally better to use all your shield, get as close as possible and then fight for glory if you want to make a push

That said, if you play in pubbies, and are a less scrupulous player than me, then go ahead. It’s not like your team is going to even care about you, if anything they will even run in front of your shield, so…

If all is lost though, and you know you're gonna die once your barrier breaks, charging usually works better than just dieing.
