with all due respect the SPLC has a nasty habit of tossing the term "hate group" on groups solely on the basis of saying things THEY do not personally like.

For example the Federation for American Immigration Reform was labeled as a "white supremicist" movement over their beliefs that immigration should be reduced by virture that the American economic growth could not sustain high levels of immigrants and therefore should be curbed until the system can stabilize.

Additionally they have branded activists such as Maajid Nawaz and Ayaan Hirsi Ali as hatemongers for wanting a muslim reformation.

Taken even further: The tagline for their "hatewatch" blog is: "Keeping an Eye on the Radical Right" as opposed to ALL radical groups, which shows them to have a major bias.

Any of the actual hate groups listed were done so several years ago, and nowadays the only accusations that get flung out from them are just convenient political opponents.
