Update 27 March 2018: New evidence suggests that this meme is not factually correct. Originally, I watched the video footage and verified whether it is authentic (it was) before posting. Yes, I fact-check news and even memes! The production is "39 Days", a CBS documentary that can be viewed under https://www.cbsnews.com/video/39-days-a-cbs-news-documentary/. The segment at 4:52 transcribes to: "On the day of the shooting, I got my camera and got on my bike and rode as fast as I could three miles from my house to the school to get as much video and to get as many interviews as I could because I knew that this could not be another mass shooting." Without any context provided before or after in the CBS production, it created confusion because it plainly contradicted his previous claims about being in school at that time. However, other interviews clarify that Hogg was talking about returning to the school on the same day around 18:00 (Lockdown was lifted at 15:36), not about his actions during the shooting. The irony is that hysterical "Progressives" scream it down as a deliberate deception coming from conspiracy nutjobs - oblivious to the fact that they are the ones who swear against all evidence that it absolutely has to be an intentional, insidious plot instead of a simple misunderstanding due to a bad CBS edit. The meme does not even claim a conspiracy to begin with, merely a media bias when it comes to choosing convenient "experts". RedState has amended its story yesterday as well: https://www.redstate.com/sarah-rumpf/2018/03/26/new-video-casts-doubt-whether-david-hogg-school-day-shooting/, which is notable. While most people and major news outlets would have simply deleted the story and try covering it up, RedState actually leaves the entire first version up for transparency - thereby further disproving those who want to believe in a right-wing conspiracy. So while it is regrettable that this mistake happened in the first place, it is actually a revealing incident that shows on which side the fact-checking works well even in the cases where a false story gains traction. Compare this approach to anything from Occupy Democrats to CNN, who not only fail to correct mistakes immediately and properly, but actively push known fake news for months and years. Then it becomes clear that the two sides have vastly different relationships to the truth...
