Monday came, and it felt as if Rainbow Dash talked to everyone about the championship game. A boy who sat next to her in chemistry, Forest Thunder, was also a Beehive Blitzer fan. They spent the whole class passing notes back and forth about Lightning, debating over which plays were his best. Rainbow Dash pressed the towel against her forehead. "I wonder who else is going to be there. "There was a rumor that Forest Thunder is tryin' out, too," Applejack said. "But other than that, I "He's really nice," Rainbow Dash said. Then she noticed Applejack staring at her, her green eyes don't know." narrowed. She might as well have said it: He 's your competition! Rainbow Dash straightened up, remembering what she was supposed to do. "He's nice," she repeated, "which is why it'll be sad when I trounce him tomorrow." As the rest of the boys started the drill, Forest Thunder lingered behind. He gave Rainbow Dash a small smile and wave. It seemed as though he wanted to say something, but then Comet blew the whistle again, and Forest Thunder ran off to join the group. "I think he likes you...." Sunset Shimmer whispered. Who likes who?" Rainbow Dash asked. She turned, wondering if Sunset Shimmer was talking to someone else. You, silly," Applejack said, nudging her in the side "I think you're imagining it," Rainbow Dash said. Then the boys darted across the field. She glanced over her shoulder one last time to see if Forest Thunder was still watching her, and he was. It was ridiculous, the idea that he liked her, but she did feel better that at least one boy on the team knew they were right. Forest Thunder seemed to think Comet was being as unfair as they thought he was being. Maybe, just maybe, she could count him as a friend. Forest Thunder looked at Rainbow Dash and smiled, a twinkle in his eye. "Yeah, we'll definitely be there. Save a seat for us!" As they walked away, Rarity grabbed Rainbow Dash's arm. "He definitely likes you." Rainbow Dash just waved her away. She didn't have time to wonder if Forest Thunder liked her or not. Sure, he was cute and nice, but the big game was tomorrow and she didn't want to get distracted. What was more important than that?
