At least Shad Knows not to make Dark Samus Zero suit a palette swap of Zero Suit Samus.
The Body being gel like would make sense since sort of resemble the Membrane of a Metroid, which Dark Samus is and the armor is basically an Exoskeleton similar to the Exoskeleton it/she had previously and the exoskeleton that Metroids develop later in their life cycle.
