The thing isn't the animation itself, but the "angles" it uses. Season 1 had some similar animation in "multiple punches" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dlLjNpZMy5o), but the dynamic angles, and the style employed gave it a strong impact. This just looks plain.
You can really tell that, more than an issue with animators, it's a problem with direction.
