As someone who completed the National Dex in Y (and could have done so in Moon if I bothered to transfer the pokemon that need to be traded with an item), I can say that there is a nice satisfaction in doing it. Were it not for those pokemon that required friends whom one could trust to trade and return and the mythicals, collecting them all would not be that hard (which is another reason why Crystal Clear is so great).
