IDK I've always liked Crazy Redd but never really felt the same for Tom Nook. I don't hate Tom like some folks I just find him kind of boring, Redd on the other hand is actively trying to make you like him and he's somehow more trustworthy than Tom Nook. We trust that Redd will try to screw us over so you can trust that you can't trust him, Tom Nook is so normal about everything you don't know if you can trust him or not. That and Crazy Redd doesn't try to get you into millions of bells in debt, he just wants to sell you fake paintings.
