I like how I can't tell if this is about the show or the creator itself.

"leave calarts alone"
Thing is barely any of the shows that people say have the "calart style" were even made by Calarts alum. Like one of the only immediate examples I can think of is Gravity Falls creator Alex Hirsch. Meanwhile beloved 90s and early 00s cartoons like Poowerpuff Girls and Fairly Odd Parents were in fact made by CalArts alumni.

"Beanmouths are easier to animate"
A lot of shows will be influenced by other creations of their time, if you go back and look at cartoons of other eras you'll see the stuff they had in common (like remember when white gloves were the immediate stylistic go-to of the early 1900s?).

"Flat and simple shapes are nicer"
This is more of a subjective matter, but thing is I can't recall too many 90s or 00 comedy cartoons with really complex backgrounds.

"I'm on medication"
Legit question, why's that apparently a bad thing? That line feels like it was written by some idiot who thinks destructive unmedicated behavior leads to success when usually it leads to misery (source: am taking depression meds so I don't feel like fucking killing myself).

"My cartoon sitcom idea is about having depression"
Only show I can think of that fits that is Bojack Horseman and what do you have against Bojack?
