We stand united on the Megaman community because that is all we have now.

Think about it: this is actually the case for a lot of gaming fanbases. TF2, a mostly abandoned game with barely any updates..? Chill fanbase. F-Zero, a completely abandoned game..? Chill fanbase. Megaman series, getting a few filler games here and there..? Chill fanbase. Meanwhile, fanbases of more active franchises such as Persona, Sonic and Smash Bros. are an absolute clusterfuck of some sort of stupidity (or even worse) mixed with all the good things.

The complacence of having the product the fanbase is built upon still be alive goes inversely proportional with the prosperity between the fans, because the active fanbases have something to bitch and complain about, but dead fanbases… well, they only have themselves and their fond memories, which a chill fanbase protects.

…and then there is the Mario fanbase, which simply ascended and is a chill fanbase with a very active game, the worst being maybe a lame mobile game or disappointing update to a tabletop one. Because why not. It is Mario.

It's sort of innacurate to put p1 and 2 on the same side as the later games if you're talking about internet fan infighting
